The insights of the Maximian Cosmology & Christology, in my view, have less to do w/universals, instantiations & such and way more to do w/personal willing.
Christ's self-determination is more like the MOF's arche anarchos. He's the Cosmotheandric principle w/o principle.
To better place my latest series of eschato-musings in their proper context within my own Neo-Chalcedonism, a recycling from yesteryear, below.
Don Gelpi, SJ, approached his synoptic narrative Christology through a Peircean lens:
“When one interprets the Christology of Maximus the Confessor in the light of a realistic, social, triadic metaphysics of experience, Maximus’s doctrine holds the key to explaining the hypostatic union doctrinally.”

Our earthly sojourns are not about working out what we are, essentially, vis a vis the teloi of our primary natures. Our imago remains eternally inviolate. Our essential teloi are not frustratable, only modally obscurable.
It’s how we are, modally, vis a vis the teloi of our secondary natures, that we each uniquely, tropically, develop as we grow in likeness, from that erotic love of God gifted ex nihilo as a free natural inclination to an agapic love of God gifted by grace & co-self-determinedly soul-crafted.
Our earthly sojourn’s about intimacization, i.e. modally increasing the scope of our participation in divine relative perfections, the breadth of our theophanic expression & range of our experiences of divine intimacy in response to mediated divine presences.
