Brilliant as usual! Until the reification of evil no longer hypnotizes the neo-scholastics, the fruitless debate will continue. You state the core issues so succinctly!
Doubtless you know Reitan and Kronen's GOD'S FINAL VICTORY? DBH is irrefutable, to be sure, but
the books by Talbott, Reitan and Kronen furnish nuanced complements to DBH's TASBS.
To me, DBH's resurrection of the priority of Final Causality and Eschatology as the drivers of protology, as well as his reminder that freedom means having no gnomic will (as in Christ, the truth of whom sets us free), seem to me to be the lynchpins making DBH irrefutable.
Anyway, love everything you write. Blessings on the Feast of His Nativity!
Thanks, Phil. Your affirmations are deeply appreciated. I only venture my thoughts to gain a modicum of accountability. It's a bonus consolation to befriend kindred spirits; it's dayenu, superabundance, cup overflowing.
I've not read books by Talbott, Reitan and Kronen. I've imbibed the best reviews available, though, from Fr Al Kimel.
So well-stated!
