'Threading the needle'. Indeed. That's the challenge.

I honestly believe it's unknowable and unsayable by us - that is, we must (I agree) posit both modes (indicative and subjective) as convergent in a finally non-contradictory way. Both speak truth but neither comprehends the integrated truth of the convergent whole. We will just have to live with that mystery - but you know I agree it's the 'right' mystery to posit. Amen! Keep preaching it.

As for a post-divinized hierarchy that recognizes some plummet depths of intimacy with God that others never know - you already know I reject this. But this doesn't have anything to do with "threading the needle" since that threading of the needle has to do how post-mortem conversion even occurs, at all, for anyone, so it's completely antecedent to the question of a post-divinized hierarchy among the divinized.

The "right" mystery to posit? Amen!

While theo-skepticism's ineluctable, it's not like we're bereft of norms that best guide us in formulating TB&G-aligned mysterian appeals. Here we ask: "How does theological virtue so beautifully & wondrously exceed the demands of justice?" For their part, others choose to locate the mystery in "How can our parental instincts, moral intelligibilities & aesthetic sensibilities be so out of touch with what apparently must constitute proportional justice?"

Yes, antecedent to any theo-anthropo-mechanics of eschato-hierarchies, post-mortem purgation, for me, otherwise can involve different types of efficacious gracings to which I heartily subscribe. Your guardian angel handed the task of selling you on the concept to Fr Kimel, so, I'll leave that in his capable hands & affable heart.
